We're walking for dogs who deserve better — and we need your support.
Did you know that nearly 20,000 dogs were cared for by the RSPCA in 2022–23? That’s over 52 dogs every single day - many rescued from cruelty, neglect, or abandonment.
Even one dog is too many.
That’s why we’re taking part in the Million Paws Walk - to raise vital funds for the RSPCA so they can continue their incredible work rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need.

This year, the walk is especially meaningful for us at Umbrella Family Law. With new family law changes coming into effect from 10 June 2025, courts will finally begin recognising pets as companion animals in family law proceedings, effective June 10, 2025. This change means courts can consider factors beyond simple property ownership when deciding who gets a pet in a separation or divorce.
As Australia’s first law firm to be trained in pet custody, we’re passionate about keeping people and their pets together - and we’re proud to walk in support of the RSPCA and for a future where all animals are treated with the love and respect they deserve.
