A message about Sydney's cancellation
This Sunday was meant to be our last lap – the final Sydney Million Paws Walk after 31 years of walking together, united in our mission to fight animal cruelty.
We’re truly heartbroken. It’s one of our favourite days of the year, and we were so looking forward to celebrating all the other animal lovers and their dogs one last time.
We explored every option to postpone the event however compounding factors such as the venue provider refusing to honour our charity discount if we changed the date, alongside the additional event costs, meant postponing would cost tens of thousands of dollars more, making it financially unviable. We know our supporters would expect the funds raised to go towards helping animals in need and not towards additional venue expenses – so we simply cannot justify it.
All 4,000 attendees, 185 volunteers, 40 stall holders and 2,331 adorable super pooches who were expected to join us at the Sydney event have now been contacted with the sad news.
All registrants have been given the option to donate the cost of their ticket or receive a full refund.
We know how disappointing this is for our loyal supporters, who have been by our side, walking to fight against animal cruelty since our first walk over thirty years ago.
