When is Million Paws Walk taking place?

All Million Paws Walk events are being hosted on Sunday 26 May 2024, with the exception of two events in Tasmania. Please refer to the Find a Walk page to confirm the date of your closest event.

Who can participate in Million Paws Walk? What if I don’t have a dog?

Anyone can take part in Million Paws Walk, and be a hero for dogs in need, even if you don’t have a dog!

Adults, children, friends, families, clubs and corporate teams are all welcome to participate and fundraise! Get your tickets today!

Who organises Million Paws Walk?

The events are organised and run by the RSPCA in each state and territory. Many of the regional events are organised by the region's Branch, Shelter and/or Volunteer Supporter Group.

How do I get tickets for Million Paws Walk?

How much does it cost to take part in Million Paws Walk?

Ticket prices differ per event so check out the Find a Walk page for more details on your closest event. We encourage you to book your tickets ahead of time for quick and easy access to your event.

Your ticket fee goes towards supporting the costs associated with delivering the Million Paws Walk events across the country. This means we rely on our participants to get involved and fundraise online to help raise much-needed funds to help animals in RSPCA's care.

How do I register a family?

Family tickets are for two adults and two children. Simply select this option during your registration when selecting tickets. 

Are there any special requirements for my dog/s to attend?

All dogs that participate in Million Paws Walk must be fully vaccinated, socialised and remain on lead at all times.

Can I bring my cat or other animal along to an event?

In the interest of animal welfare and safety, this is a strictly dog-only event.

What happens if it rains?

Our events generally go ahead, rain or shine, unless there is a safety risk posed by extreme weather. In the case of inclement weather on the event weekend, we recommend you check with your local state RSPCA for updates.

What is your COVID-19 policy?

All events will be adhering to the Government regulations at the time of the event. As each state has different regulations, please refer to your state's public health website, and the conditions of entry displayed on event day. 

Can I request a refund if I an unable to attend the event?

Tickets are non-refundable, however we are able to convert your entry fee into a donation and provide a tax-deductible receipt. To discuss, please contact your state's Million Paws Walk team via the details here.

Where do all the funds raised go?

All proceeds from Million Paws Walk go to supporting the ongoing work of the RSPCA to care for animals in need. The money you raise online, as well as sales from the merchandise you buy, all goes towards improving animal welfare. It keeps the doors of our animal shelters open and our Inspectors on the road, while also providing community education on animal care and welfare issues.

How do I fundraise for Million Paws Walk?

Just follow the easy steps below!

  1. Sign up for Million Paws Walk and we’ll create a fundraising page for you.
  2. Make a pawsonal donation yourself – your friends will soon follow.
  3. Pawsonalise your page – add a profile picture of you and your superpooch and share why you are pounding the pavement for animals in need.
  4. Ask your friends and family for suppawt on social media - to help, we've made some handy fundraising resources.

How do I edit my fundraising page?

Click ‘Login’ in the top right-hand corner, which will allow you to access your dashboard and make any changes you need to.

How do I create a fundraising team?

During your registration, you'll see an option to "Create A Team" at the bottom of the page. Enter your team name & fundraising target, and click "create". You are now the Team Captain! When other people register, they can join your team - simply share your team name with them. You can also login to your Dashboard after registering and create a team from there at any time.

How do I ask for donations?

Our fundraising page has heaps of tips and tricks to get your fundraising off to a tail-wagging start.

You can also visit the resources page to access our pawsome fundraising resources, like social media tiles and custom email signatures. You'll be surprised how generous your community is if you just ask.

How do I thank people who have donated in support of my walk?

Don’t worry – we've got you covered! We know how important it is to show your appreciation, so we’ve already set up a functionality which automatically sends a thank you email to your donor as soon as they make a donation. You’ll find this within your dashboard.

Another way is to include thank you notes to your donors (and don’t forget to tag them) in your social posts when asking for more donations! Many people love to be publicly acknowledged for their kind donation and support.

Are donations tax-deductible? What about tickets?

All donations over $2 are tax-deductible, however ticket fees are not.
