When is Million Paws Walk?
Every year, the Million Paws Walk event is held on the third Sunday in May. This year it will be held on Sunday 20 May.
Who can register for the event?
Anyone can enter the event and everyone is welcome. This includes children, adults, families, school teams, corporate teams, friends and neighbours! Please understand, this is a dog only event. We welcome all dogs, whether they are large or small, fluffy or hairless. As you will be in the company of hundreds of dogs, you must take complete responsibility for your own pets at the event. Make sure your dog is fully vaccinated and registered before coming to the event. Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Ensure your dog is socialised and generally non-aggressive to people and other dogs.
What if I don’t have a dog?
That's okay, you can still participate! As well as joining fellow animal lovers and dogs on the walk, there will be entertainment, displays, stalls, giveaways and a host of other activities! There will also be plenty of RSPCA staff to talk to if you're interested in adopting a dog or another pet!
Can I buy merchandise?
Yes. Visit our merchandise page for online purchases or you can purchase on the day.
Where does the fundraised money go?
The registration fees help to cover the cost of the event while the money raised through online fundraising go towards the running of RSPCA Qld's vital services. These services include the care of over 51,000 animals each year, the rescuing and rehabilitation of wildlife animals and the role of inspectors in investigating over 18,000 cruelty cases each year. It costs RSPCA Qld almost $50 million dollars each year to run these services, and we receive only 2% of this from the government. The funds you raise through Million Paws Walk is helping to close this gap.
Can my company sponsor the Million Paws Walk?
Absolutely! We actively encourage corporate organisations to get involved with the Million Paws Walk - whether that be sponsorship, team participation or fundraising. We would love to hear from you - contact the RSPCA Queensland Events Team at events@rspcaqld.org.au or on (07) 3258 5608.
Can I transfer my entry or obtain a refund?
Sorry, no. You cannot transfer your entry or obtain a refund.
If I can’t register online, what can I do?
Contact us on (07) 3426 9999 if you are unable to use or access the online registration system. You can also register on the day.
What does my entry fee provide me?
You will gain express access to the event, as well as knowing that you're supporting a great cause!
What happens if it rains?
Million Paws Walk will happen in rain and we will notify you of cancellation if the weather is deemed dangerous in any of the locations.
Can I volunteer at the event?
Yes, please! Email the RSPCA Queensland Volunteering Team at volunteering@rspcaqld.org.au.
What if my question isn’t here?
Please contact the RSPCA Million Paws Walk Team on (07) 3426 9999.
Is there anything I should bring to the event?
Whether you’re coming along as a four-legged or two-legged participant, we need to make sure that you have a fun and safe Million Paws Walk. Make sure to wear appropriate outdoor clothing, comfortable walking shoes, hat and sunglasses! Pack sunscreen for yourself and animal sunscreen for pets that have a fair or white coat. Bring poop bags and enough water for you and your pooch (and a portable water bowl if you have one). You'll also need cash for parking, lunch and merchandise purchases.
Can I bring other animals to the event?
