What is Million Paws Walk?

The Million Paws Walk is a national dog walking event held by the RSPCA. This event is the largest fundraising event of the year and involves thousands of people with their dogs registering, fundraising and participating in walks held across Australia. The funds raised are vital in providing for the shelter animals in our care.
When and where is Million Paws Walk?
The walk is held on the third Sunday in May every year. This year it will be held on at 9 a.m. on Sunday 19th May 2019. The walk route is at Jingili Water Gardens, corner of Freshwater Road and Trower Road, Jingili. You can register online now to avoid waiting in line at the event on the event on the day.
Who can enter the event?
Anyone can enter the event and everyone is welcome. This includes children, adults, families, school teams, corporate teams, friends and neighbours! Please understand, this is a dog only event. We welcome a variety of dogs, whether they are large or small, fluffy or hairless. As you will be in the company of hundreds of dogs, you must take complete responsibility for your own pets at the event.
What if I don’t have a dog?
No problem - you can still participate! As well as joining fellow animal lovers and dogs on the walk, there will be entertainment, displays, stalls, giveaways and a host of other activities. There will also be plenty of RSPCA staff to talk to if you're interested in adopting a dog or another pet. Go ahead and ask a friend or neighbour who has two dogs - you can walk one each.
Where does the money raised go?
Funds raised through entry fees, the sale of merchandise and online fundraising, helps RSPCA Darwin operate its animal shelter and provide community education on animal welfare issues across the state.
Can I bring any other animals?
No. Please understand, this is a dog only event. We welcome a variety of dogs, whether they are large or small, fluffy or hairless. Yes, we know cats rule, but you'll be in the company of hundreds of other dogs. We want everyone to have the best time possible!
