What is Million Paws Walk?
Million Paws Walk is the RSPCA's biggest annual fundraising event. It involves thousands of people and their dogs registering, fundraising and participating in walks held all across Australia to help fight animal cruelty.
When is Million Paws Walk?
Million Paws Walk is held on the third Sunday in May every year. This year's event will be held on Sunday 21 May. The event will run in rain, hail or shine! For event information, please check the appropriate location page.
Who organises Million Paws Walk?
The events are organised and run by the RSPCA in each state and territory.
Who can enter Million Paws Walk?
Anyone can enter the event, even if they aren't a dog owner. Adults, children, families, friends, neighbours and corporate teams are all welcome. All participants must register online or on the day of the event to gain entry. Please note that while cats rule, this event is specifically run for vaccinated, socialised and friendly dogs.
What age does a child need to be in order to be entitled to a child's ticket?
Children aged between three and 16 years of age are entitled to a child's ticket.
My child is aged three or younger. Does he or she need a ticket?
No, children who are aged three or younger do not need a ticket for Million Paws Walk.
Who is eligible for a concession ticket?
Concession, pensioners and students are eligible for concession tickets.
How do I pay for my entry online?
RSPCA ACT accepts any valid Visa or MasterCard for online registrations.
Can I register a team?
Yes, you certainly can! Team registrations are open for all RSPCA Million Paws Walk locations. Simply register online and complete the form with your team's details.
Can I transfer my entry or obtain a refund?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer your entry or obtain a refund.
What if I don’t have a dog?
That's okay! You can still participate! As well as joining fellow animal lovers and their dogs on the walk, there will be entertainment, food, giveaways, stalls, RSPCA merchandise, and a whole host of other activities.
Can all dogs participate?
Yes, but they must be fully vaccinated, collared and be on a lead at all times. They must also be socialised and generally non-aggressive to people or other dogs
Where does the money raised go?
Funds raised from this event assist us in operating our animal shelters, supporting our Inspectorate, and providing community education on animal care and welfare issues.
How can I contribute financially?
There’s a number of ways you can contribute. The best way is to participate in the Million Paws Walk event and fundraise online by getting your family, friends and colleagues to support you and donate to your page.
Can my company sponsor the RSPCA Million Paws Walk?
Absolutely! We actively encourage corporate organisations to get involved with Million Paws Walk, whether that is through fundraising, sponsorship or team participation. We would love to hear from you!
Can I purchase or adopt animals at the event?
No. In addition, any unscrupulous sales people who bring dogs and puppies to sell at any Million Paws Walk location will be asked to leave immediately.

500 Club

How do I gain entry into the 500 Club?
You can gain entry into the 500 Club by setting up your own fundraising page and raising $500 or more to help RSPCA ACT fight animal cruelty in the Canberra region.
When will I receive my invitation to the 500 Club?
Invitations will be sent via email. All invitations will be sent before 13 May 2017. If you raise $500 after this date, please present your fundraising page to a member of staff at the 'Very Important Pooch Suppawter' marquee.
Where will the 500 Club marquee be located?
The 500 Club marquee will be located inside the Stage 88 grounds. Entry is through a marquee named ‘Very Important Pooch Suppawter’.
Will the friend I bring into the 500 Club need to register for the event?
Yes, your friend must register for the event to enter the marquee.

Volunteering

What age do I need to be to volunteer?
If you are over 18 years of age and don’t mind an early start, you can volunteer at the Million Paws Walk event!
Who is the ideal volunteer?
The ideal volunteer will be a happy and encouraging person, with the ability to work well under pressure and cope with large crowds of dog enthusiasts. Of course, a love of dogs is also a must!
Do I need to have a WWVP card?
Yes. All volunteers must hold a current working with vulnerable people card (WWVP). All volunteer applications must be received by RSPCA ACT no later than 1 May 2017.
How do I get a WWVP Card?
To receive a WWVP card, head to the Access Canberra website to apply online for free. The WWVP card is issued by the ACT Government and takes approximately two weeks to receive.
I would like to volunteer at the event, but can only help for a specific time. Can I still assist?
