Together in ACT we have raised $14,134 to fight animal cruelty

Join us for Million Paws Walk in 2019!

Register now and walk to fight animal cruelty at Australia's biggest dog walk!

This year more than 2,000 dogs will be at the Lake Burley Griffin precinct to show their support for local animals in need. The Million Paws Walk event is a wonderful day for all creatures with two or four legs. All attendees will be able to enjoy live entertainment, stalls, delicious food, giveaways, activities with your pooch and a whole lot more!

Everyone is welcome, including your four-legged friend regardless of the breed, size and age. Don’t forget to make sure your pooch is up to date with vaccinations, sociable and friendly with all creatures (human and furry).

Funds raised from this year’s event will go towards the important work of our teams striving to make a difference. Last year, we saw hundreds of abused and neglected animals come in through our Inspectorate needing urgent care from our Animal Care Services Team. This is very costly and with your help, we can continue this vital work of caring for these animals in their time of need.

Meet our hero

Meet Harper

My name is Harper. I arrived at RSPCA in poor condition. You see, I had a very large lump on me which made me feel really uncomfortable. The staff noticed it right away and I immediately saw a vet. I remember the vet giving me a worried look, but I knew I was in a place where I was going to receive the best of care. The vet staff took a biopsy and I was very anxious. I really wanted to hear good news. Unfortunately, the lump was cancerous and I needed emergency surgery to ensure I had the best chance of living a long and happy life. Before surgery, the staff at the RSPCA gave me plenty of pats which made me feel at ease. The surgery lasted nearly three hours. I remember waking up with so many happy faces looking at me. The surgery was a success! As I recovered from my surgery, the team at the shelter gave me the best of care. I received so many scratches under my chin, tummy rubs and delicious treats. I was definitely spoilt and felt so happy and loved. I was in care at RSPCA for over two months, until one day I met my paw-fect match. I am now living my best life with lots of love and kisses. RSPCA ACT relies on the support from the Canberra community to continue to help animals just like me. By registering and fundraising for this year’s Million Paws Walk, you can help RSPCA continue to fight animal cruelty and help animals in need.
